Meet Frederique

Frederique Poulain attended L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in her native country, France, an academy art school which led her to specialize in creating murals and Trompe L’oeil (trick the eye). Additionally trained and perfecting the art of hand painted ceramics, she started creating back splashes, table tops and home decor accessories.

Frederique moved to South West Florida in 1993 and opened Frederique’s Studio. Filling the demand of a rapidly growing list of satisfied clients, painting wall murals, ceramic gated entryways and business facades that have become iconic in downtown Naples.  Over the last twenty-five years, Frederique has been commissioned to paint for a "Who's Who" list of clientele from New England to Florida, and shows annually at the Boston Flower and Garden Show, Chatham Festival of the Arts, Connecticut Flower Show and the Newport Flower Show in Rhode Island.  Add to these her Equestrian show lineup at the Land Rover Three Day Event in Kentucky, Dressage at Devon and Equine Affaire at the Big E, Springfield, Massachusetts, Frederique keeps very busy fulfilling the high demand for her artwork .

Frederique Poulain's love for horses started at a young age. Her early years of riding as a jumper led to discovering dressage and was blessed to work in the prestigious "Grandes Ecuries" in Chantilly France, also known as "The living horse museum." Frederique trained horses the advanced dressage moves such as Haute école, passage, piaffe and pirouettes and participated in the shows regularly.

Frederique has made Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod her home. Finding the Cape an inspiring place to mix her giftedness in art and horses, Frederique produces both floral and equestrian art work.  Her unique style and love of colorful flowers and horses shows in every stroke of the brush.
